Your fundraising helps us to support our research and ultimately transform lives. We could not continue to fund our research without you, and without our research we cannot achieve better outcomes for men with prostate cancer and their families.
We currently fund eleven research projects, all of which aim to develop more effective treatments for and better understandings of prostate cancer. Following our ecosystem report, we are determined to fund projects that explore current gaps in knowledge and treatment to move the field forward and reach new and better treatments sooner.

We fund scientists across the UK at all stages of their career. We care about the barriers faced by researchers and recognise the importance of nurturing and encouraging innovation and collaboration, to ensure that research is moving as effectively as possible to reach better outcomes for patients sooner.
By fundraising for us, you are supporting scientists at all stages of their research journey and ensuring they are treated with respect, offered flexibility and given the support they deserve.
You can find out more about our scientists in our research area.
We listen to patients and fund the research that will lead to outcomes that matter most to them, so that our research is entirely patient-focussed. By supporting PCR, you are supporting patients who are sharing their stories and experiences and helping to fund the research that matters most to them.
Find out more about our patient voice panel and hear from patients who have been impacted by PCR’s work.
With your support, we will provide scientists with the space, flexibility, and environment that helps turn great ideas into successful treatments.
How much could you raise for our PCR scientists? Did you know that –
£73 would fund materials to grow a cell colony.
£250 would fund 6 months of essential lab consumables.
£1,200 would fund a box of new antibodies to test.
£10,000 would fund a live imaging microscope camera.

Here is a list of frequently asked questions, if you have any questions that are not answered below please feel free to get in touch.
In 2008, the spectacular Royal Parks Half Marathon first took place in central London – the first and only one of its kind. The stunning 13.1 mile route takes in the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads, and four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
The Half Marathon doesn’t end with the run! You and your family and friends can make a proper day out of the race at the Food and Fitness Festival.
At the Food & Fitness Festival there is a wide range of fun sporting and creative activities for the whole family to try, a tempting food market, live music and entertainment.
You must be at least 17 years old on Sunday 11 April 2021 (race day) to take part.
This event is a road race designed for runners, not walkers. This is because the roads in Westminster, outside the Parks, can only be closed for a limited time. They will open to traffic 2.5 hours after the start of the race, after which time participants who have not yet passed this point (6 miles in) will be asked to move on to the pavements, use pedestrian crossing points and then re-join the race route within Hyde Park.
All runners who complete the race will receive a medal. Wood is used for the leaf shaped finisher’s medal. With sustainability top of the agenda, the The Royal Parks and Limelight Sports work together to do everything they can to help reduce the impact of the Half Marathon on the environment.
If it is your birthday on race day, you will also be able to pick up a surprise gift from the Information Marquee!
You’ll also receive an official thank you letter from PCR for your fantastic fundraising and a PCR medal!
The route can be found on the Royal Parks Half Marathon website.
All funds raised will go back into funding research and allowing scientists to test out methods and ideas and find better treatments for life-threatening prostate cancer.
The fundraising target for this race is £350.
As a member of #TeamPCR, you’ll receive all the support you will need from Amy (our Community Fundraising Officer) who’s whole job is to make this experience as fun and stress-free for you as possible! Some benefits include:
